After the hand-picked seeds are planted and the tropical climate allows the cotton plants to thrive, the mature flowers are harvested by hand to this day. If you wear a Zimmerli Sea Island Style, this is therefore not only sewn by hand, but also manually harvested.
After the refined fabric is singed in the Zurich Oberland to create a smoother and finer surface, leaching refines the fibers to create the silky sheen of Zimmerli Sea Island.
This finishing process is gentler and more sustainable than mercerizing. The dyeing process is performed slower and under less pressure so that the fabric does not lose its fine texture.
